The movie hit of the year 2014, 'Interstellar,' tells the story of the adventures of a group of researchers who use a newly discovered wormhole to overcome the limits of human space travel and the vast distances involved in an interstellar journey. While the film was directed by the celebrated Christopher Nolan (Inception, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight), the epic soundtrack was composed by Nolan's long-time collaborator: Oscar, Grammy, and Golden Globe winner Hans Zimmer.

Zimmer and Nolan planned to break away from the film scores of the 'Batman' trilogy and create a unique soundtrack. Before even writing a word of 'Interstellar,' Nolan did something he had never done before. Something that speaks to his desire for a more emotional work. He asked composer Hans Zimmer to write music for the film without telling him anything about the genre, title, characters, or plot: 'I said, 'I'll give you an envelope with a letter inside. One page. It will tell you the fable that lies at the heart of the story. You work for a day and then play me what you've written.' He was ready for it. And it was perfect. He gave me the centerpiece of the film.' Zimmer says he remembers this idea from Nolan's letter: 'Once we become parents, we can't help but see ourselves through the eyes of our children.'

For 'Interstellar,' Zimmer conducted 45 scoring sessions, three times as many as for 'Inception.' The film's music was nominated for the 2015 Oscars, BAFTA Awards, Golden Globes, and Hollywood Music in Media Awards.

'Interstellar' is available in a Limited Edition of 15,000 individually numbered copies on translucent, purple Vinyl in a deluxe gatefold sleeve with rainbow laminate finish. The Vinyl package includes a 4-page booklet with detailed liner notes by Christopher Nolan and Hans Zimmer.
